This weekend, I drove back to Virginia Beach for the weekend to spend it with my family at a beach house that my grandparents rented for the weekend for my grandmother’s birthday. It’s been a relaxing and fun weekend of hanging out with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. I really hate going to the beach, but I love making the drive when my family is involved.
It was a super short visit, but I was able to create a makeshift church service for Sunday morning and I absolutely loved doing it. I chose some of my favorite Christian songs that I thought may be easy to sing along to including Jesus Paid it All by the NewsBoys, This is Amazing Grace by Phil Wickham, and Prince of Peace (You are Holy). My song choices were not good enough for my grandparents, but it was fun to plan anyway! I was able to read a few devotionals to allow my family to get their daily dose of scripture, so that was really nice. Just being able to provide my family with a short service was rewarding because they didn’t want to go an actual church, so I was able to plan something for them to have time to rest for a little in the Lord.
Time with family is always really rejuvenating and filling for me, so I’m super thankful for the time I get to spend with them even if it’s just for a few short days.
